Business Model Now Available for Download

From the start, the Nature Smart Cities project aims to help cities to invest in green infrastructure. Often, it’s not so much a lack of resources that prevent city planners from including green infrastructure, but a clear understanding of the range and value of benefits it can provide. The Business Model solves this issue. It has been designed specifically to be used in smaller municipalities to assess the value of green infrastructure in urbanized environments. Using the automated Excel tool, users walk through a series of steps that explore the multiple benefits of a green infrastructure project, and model and test alternative approaches. You may also gain insights on how your project can be optimized even further!

The Business Model is now available online, hosted by our project partner University of Antwerp. Wito van Oijstaeijen and Maíra Finizola e Silva, who developed the Business Model, are happy with this: ‘We really believe in the Nature Smart Cities Business Model, because it makes the benefits of green infrastructure comprehensive and tangible. It provides valuable information that should be accessible to all. That’s why we’re very happy that the University of Antwerp agreed to host it, now that the project nears its finish.'
